The main impetus behind my work is an urge to make beautiful things.

After working with sculptural installations, I wanted to move away from the conceptual and concentrate on the aesthetics of my work. Through the transformation of a material, I strive to make poetic objects that can be appreciated both as sculptural or aesthetical elements and as functional design.

My main source of inspiration is Norwegian nature, especially the shifting light and seasons. I strongly believe that the perception of carefully made objects with subtle textures or colour combinations can enhance the feeling of being present in our own lives. As an alternative to mass consumption of objects with a short life span, I wish to present hand-made and durable design that the buyer can keep throughout the years.

I produce my work at Kroloftet, a coworking space for professional designers and artists.
